The day before Easter 1592, in a shop in Prague's Jewish Quarter, is found the lifeless body of a Christian girl. Accused of committing a ritual murder, the shopkeeper and his family are arrested. Given the presumption of innocence, the sheriff granted the Jews three days to find the real culprits. Failing that, they face total annihilation of the Jewish community. The weight of research lies Benyamin Ben-Akiva, a Talmud scholar recently arrived from Poland, a clever and insightful man, but with very few contacts to be able to save all the Jews of Prague.
